  • Furniture transfer(s) of your choice
  • A clean and dry piece of furniture (painted or unpainted)
  • Burnishing tool or a credit card
  • Scissors (optional, for trimming)
  • Clear topcoat or sealer, like AS Wax (optional, for durability)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Surface

  • Ensure the furniture surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
  • If the furniture is painted, let the paint cure fully before applying the transfer. This usually takes 24-48 hours.

2. Plan the Design

  • Lay out the transfer on your furniture to visualize its placement.
  • If the transfer is large or comes in multiple sections, cut it into smaller pieces for easier application.

3. Peel and Position

  • Peel the backing paper off the transfer, exposing the adhesive side.
  • Carefully position the transfer on the furniture. Once stuck, it may be hard to reposition, so align it carefully.

4. Adhere the Transfer

  • Use the burnishing tool or a credit card to firmly rub the transfer onto the surface. Work from the center outward to remove air bubbles and ensure a smooth application.
  • Pay attention to edges and details.

5. Remove the Protective Sheet

  • Slowly peel away the top clear sheet.
  • If parts of the transfer do not stick, lay the sheet back down and burnish the area again.

6. Seal the Transfer (Optional)

  • For added protection, apply a clear topcoat or sealer over the transfer. This step is especially important for high-use furniture or outdoor pieces.

7. Final Touches

  • Inspect the transfer for any missed spots or air bubbles.
  • Smooth out imperfections with the burnishing tool.

  • Use transfers on furniture that will remain indoors unless the transfer is specifically designed for outdoor use.
